Writer. Editor. Story Strategist.

Seasoned writer.
Savvy editor.
Trusted collaborator.
My kids complain that I talk to everyone and ask a lot of questions. Spoiler alert: They’re right. I’m curious about everything and, well, everyone. That means I find most subjects and people fascinating. As a journalist, that’s led me to dig into everything from fly farming and A.I. to camel milk and urban spelunking for national and regional outlets.
I bring my reporter’s curiosity, doggedness, active listening, and storytelling skill to writing and editing projects with nonfiction book authors, book publishers, scholars and universities, research centers, museums, foundations, think tanks, other nonprofits, and select companies.
You might call me a strategic story architect and story shaper. And being both a writer sweating an editor’s scalpel (ahem, bludgeon?) and an editor wielding that scalpel has honed my tools on both sides of the desk. It’s also made me an empathetic and sensitive collaborator.
I welcome all nonfiction projects—especially books.
Memoir and other creative nonfiction, reference, guidebooks, scholarly titles, how-to, self-help? Yes, please.
I’m particularly drawn to women’s health and women’s stories, mental health, food, nature and the environment, travel, and outdoor adventure. Having birthed my own book, for Outside magazine and W.W. Norton & Company, I can relate to the rollercoaster ride book authors can face. And to authors’ need for compassionate yet constructive support.
I live in Seattle. When I’m not working, I backpack, hike, Nordic ski, and swim lakes and the salty Puget Sound year-round.
